In 1992 (methane) gas protection measures (i.e. vents) were installed during the construction of the Reserve’s pavilion due to the presence of filling and reportedly methane gas concentrations that could present a fire risk. Atma’s job was to assess the potential risk associated with ground/landfill gas (methane) onsite for the upgrade of the pavilion and construction of an adjacent building. Recommendations: sub-surface gas monitoring including construction of a soil gas bore with two monitoring rounds.
