Atma Environmental completed a Preliminary Site Investigation for a major brewery premises in urban Melbourne, following EPA Victoria’s recommendation for further assessment. The site covered approximately 8.76 hectares across multiple parcels, with a long and complex industrial history including brewing, bottling, distilling, former tannery activities, printing, laboratories, workshops and associated infrastructure.
Atma undertook a detailed review of historical titles, aerial photography, business directories, environmental records, surrounding audits and site conditions to identify likely contamination sources, migration risks, receptors and exposure pathways. The PSI provided the client with a preliminary conceptual site model and risk-based recommendations, including groundwater monitoring, staged intrusive assessment of high-risk areas and preparation of a Site Contamination Management Plan for ongoing industrial use.
