Atma Environmental completed a Landfill Gas Risk Assessment for a proposed three-storey apartment development with basement car parking in Oakleigh East. The assessment was required because the site was located within EPA Victoria’s recommended landfill buffer distance for several closed former landfills in the surrounding area.
Atma completed a desktop review, site inspection, gas bore installation, methane monitoring and ground-surface / service-pit methane surveys, supported by a Conceptual Site Model and Tier 1 and Tier 2 risk assessment. No evidence of landfill gas impact was identified, and the assessment concluded that the risk to the proposed development was low, with no further landfill gas investigation or management required.
